Class Preparation
To ensure success, you must come to class prepared. Prior to your first class meeting, we ask that you complete the following checklist:

| |
- Pick up your training materials from our shop--Remember, these materials are included in your training fees.
- PADI Open Water manual (DVD optional)
- Logbook
- Dive tables
- Student Folder
- Prior to the first Classroom Training session, read through the entire Open Water manual and complete all Knowledge Review questions at the end of each chapter (5 chapters total).
- Read through the Medical Questionnaire in the Student Folder (you can download a copy here). If you would answer YES to any of the questions, you will need a Physician's Approval
prior to participating in water activities.
- Acquire personal snorkeling gear consisting of:
- Mask
- Snorkel
- Fins
- Boots
- Gloves
Properly fitting gear is essential for safety while diving and is required for training. If you do not already own this gear, please stop by the shop and we will help you select items that fit you and are suitable for the conditions you will encounter. You may not need boots and gloves for Warm Water Referrals--let our staff help you in making the right choice so that you save money.
- Get fitted for Open Water Training gear. This step may not be required for your particular Open Water Training program. Check with one of our staff members when picking up course materials.
